Hibernation Therapeutics has developed and patented a number of pharmacological therapies for organ protection, preservation and organ arrest. This technology has significant clinical applications in the global cardiovascular and stroke markets, along with related targets and therapies.

The Company’s R&D and product development efforts are targeted at the following outcomes:

• Improvement of cardiac protection and clinical outcomes

• Making cardiac surgery and coronary intervention procedures safer for the patient and more predictable for the surgeon

• Applying the mechanisms of natural hibernators to offer new cardiovascular therapies

The HiberTherapeutics™ approach employs a three-pronged approach to achieve its clinical objectives:

1. Voltage Control: Maintain the cell’s resting membrane voltage during times of injury/stress
   
   
2. Demand Management: Down-regulate cell metabolism to lower energy demand
   
   
3. Anti-inflammation: Blunt the inflammatory response
